As the General Manager, you will be the driving force behind the cafe’s success, responsible for overseeing all aspects of daily operations. Your focus will be delivering an exceptional dining experience that reflects our commitment to culinary excellence and inspired, above-and-beyond hospitality.

You will lead a team of passionate professionals, ensuring that every detail — from food quality to guest engagement — meets the highest standards while driving financial performance and community presence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing team rooted in hospitality and accountability.
• Recruit, hire, train, and mentor team members to uphold elevated standards.
• Foster a culture where “unreasonable hospitality” is practiced daily.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide meaningful feedback and growth pathways.
• Develop future leaders within the organization.

Operations Management

• Oversee all daily cafe operations to ensure smooth, efficient service.
• Maintain excellence in food quality, presentation, and consistency.
• Implement and monitor standard operating procedures.
• Ensure opening and closing routines are executed flawlessly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully operational facility.

Guest Experience

• Champion a guest-first philosophy in every interaction.
• Empower your team to create memorable, personalized moments.
• Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and continuously raise the bar.
• Model hospitality that exceeds expectations — not just meets them.

Financial Management

• Drive revenue growth and manage labor and food costs.
• Analyze P&L statements and implement strategies to increase profitability.
• Optimize inventory and minimize waste.
• Ensure accurate cash handling and financial controls.

Marketing & Community Engagement

• Execute local store marketing initiatives.
• Build meaningful community relationships.
• Promote catering, events, and brand partnerships.
• Position the cafe as the premier brunch destination in the area.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain ServSafe certification and all required documentation.
• Conduct routine inspections and uphold brand standards.
• Ensure adherence to all company policies and employment laws.

Reporting & Administration

• Prepare operational and financial reports for ownership and regional leadership.
• Manage scheduling, payroll, and inventory systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance records.
• Perform additional duties as required to support overall success.

Skills & Abilities

• Proven leadership skills with a hospitality-first mindset
• Strong knowledge of upscale or brunch-focused restaurant operations
• Financial acumen with P&L management experience
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving ability
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS systems, and scheduling software
• Deep commitment to service excellence and brand standards

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience considered)
• Minimum 5 years of restaurant experience
• At least 2 years in a senior leadership or General Manager role
• Experience in upscale or brunch/breakfast-focused concepts strongly preferred
• Experience in opening a new restaurant preferred
• ServSafe certification required

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move quickly throughout all areas of the cafe
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
