Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with daily dessert preparation for restaurants, special events, and Club functions
- Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, breads, and baked goods according to production schedules and recipes
- Maintains all food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with company policy and health regulations
- Prepare and serve items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards
- Support pastry production for special events, including large-scale functions
- Schedules production of dessert components to maintain an inventory of fresh items for the restaurants at all times
- Sets up, maintains and breaks down workstation and restaurant line
- Notifies Executive Pastry Chef in advance of expected product shortages
- Requisitions supplies as needed to prepare menu items
- Ensures that work area is safe and secure
- Maintains professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness rules at all times
- Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
Qualifications and Personal Characteristics
Texas Food Handler Certified
Minimum 2 years of pastry experience on a restaurant line
Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling practices
Fluent English speaker
Experience preparing pastries, desserts, breads, or other baked goods in a professional kitchen environment
Able to take direction from supervisors
Responds well to suggestions from others
Able to focus on timing, and organization
Detail-oriented – you understand that the little things count
Follows established processes
Is cool under pressure
Able to anticipate and act with the Members in mind
Is a timely and effective communicator to Members and co-workers
