Summary

As a Retail Associate for Heritage Grand Bakery, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to each guest visiting the bakery to ensure a great experience.  You will be expected to assist the guest while they shop at the store, while maintaining all displays perfectly refilled and clean. Bountiful display and warm welcome are they keys!

Responsibilities

• Ensure each guest is receiving a warm welcome and a proper farewell.
• Ensure each guest has been assisted with any question or inquiry he might have, answer any guest question, or ask the manager for assistance.
• Ensure each guest order has been properly taken care of and properly packaged in the appropriate packaging. Follow packaging guidelines.
• Ensure each guest payment has been properly taken care of at the register. If any issue or concern arise, ensure the manager has been informed.
• Always ensure friendly and responsive service to the guest.
• Ensure an extensive knowledge of all menu items: breads, viennoiseries, pastries and Grab N’ Go.
• Ensure an extensive knowledge of all coffee and tea products offering and recipes.
• Ensure products are merchandised correctly, retail store is clean and aesthetically pleasing.
• Ensure planogram set up by Heritage Grand Bakery is always followed.
• Ensure the retail area and the grab n go area are always clean and DOH rules applied.
• Maintain a gracious, pleasant, and friendly attitude, while promoting a teamwork-based work environment.

Requirements

Qualifications

• NYCDOH Food Handlers Licence
• Prior food retail experience required (1year)
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• People skills
• Sense of urgency and attention to details
• Passion for breads and pastries
• Interest in learning and sharing knowledge about products
• Experience operating POS system basic and intermediate functions 
• Ability to work flexible schedule
• Ability to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 pounds 
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully within the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
