Retail Associate

The Equinox Retail Associate is responsible for delivering a premium, high-touch shopping experience that reflects the brand’s luxury fitness and wellness lifestyle. This role combines customer service, sales, and retail operations to support members and guests in selecting products that enhance their fitness and everyday performance.

Retail Associates serve as brand ambassadors within the club, engaging with members, providing personalized product recommendations, and driving retail sales. They also ensure the retail space is clean, organized, and visually aligned with Equinox’s high standards.

Retail Associates assist members with product selection, provide knowledgeable recommendations, and help drive retail sales by promoting wellness-focused merchandise such as apparel, accessories, and recovery products. They are also responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing retail environment that reflects Equinox’s luxury standards.

• Greet members and guests in a warm, professional, and welcoming manner.
• Provide personalized product recommendations based on member needs and lifestyle.
• Drive retail sales by promoting products, promotions, and wellness offerings.
• Process transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing merchandise displays.
• Restock inventory and monitor product levels on the sales floor.
• Stay knowledgeable about products, features, and current promotions.
• Build relationships with members to encourage repeat business and loyalty.
• Support overall club operations and collaborate with front desk and fitness teams when needed.
• Deliver a luxury-level customer experience consistent with the Equinox brand.

To successfully perform in this role, the individual should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications:

• The ability to take direction

• Experience in a customer service business; preferably in retail

• Hardworking and diligent, possessing both honesty and personal integrity

• Excellent time management, organizational, problem solving and communication skills

• Ability to utilize new techniques and ideas

• Be available to work a varied schedule, based on the needs of our unique retail business

• Previous experience in retail, customer service, hospitality, or sales preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide high-level customer service in a luxury environment.
• Comfort engaging with customers and making product recommendations.
• Basic sales experience or willingness to meet sales goals.
• Ability to operate a POS (point-of-sale) system and handle transactions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain store presentation standards.
• Ability to stand for long periods and perform light physical tasks (stocking, organizing merchandise).
• Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Professional appearance and alignment with Equinox brand standards.
• Passion for fitness, wellness, and lifestyle retail is a plus.
