Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking a RF Microwave Design Eng - Level 6 to serve as Hardware Team Lead and join our team at our facility in Boulder, Colorado.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n * Lead architecture, design, integration, and deployment of large\u2011scale SATCOM ground systems supporting MEO\u2011tracking ground stations.\n * Serve as mission engineer for end\u2011to\u2011end data\u2011flow solutions (RF processing, A/D conversion, demod, de\u2011crypt, networking configuration, cross\u2011domain handling) and ensure compliance with down\u2011link, transmit, spacecraft custody, and data\u2011processing requirements.\n * Support and advise cross\u2011functional teams of engineers across microwave/RF, HPC, precision timing, IT/networking, and civil\u2011construction disciplines; coordinate with antenna manufacturers, space\u2011craft providers, and vendor partners.\n * Oversee procurement, integration, and testing of antennas, modulation/demodulation subsystems, server/storage/computing platforms.\n * Control budgets and cost accounts for material procurement and program\u2011wide hardware baselines.\n * Develop detailed requirement specifications, source subcontract agreements, and manage subcontractor performance for hardware and civil\u2011construction deliverables.\n * Provide technical leadership for software/hardware development on platforms such as Kratos Compass C2, RT Logic wide\u2011band processors, ViaSat modems, and Red Hat/Windows OS environments.\n * Maintain vendor relationships, schedule adherence, and risk mitigation using MBSE\u2011SysML, Agile/Jira, and other systems\u2011engineering methodologies.\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in a STEM discipline with 14 years of relevant experience \u2013 OR \u2013 Master\u2019s degree with 12 years of relevant experience \u2013 OR \u2013 PhD with 10 years of relevant experience\n * Requires an active U.S. Government DoD Secret or higher security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI\n * Hands\u2011on experience designing, integrating, and testing real\u2011time computer\u2011in\u2011the\u2011loop (RTCIL) and hardware\u2011in\u2011the\u2011loop (HWIL) laboratories.\n * Design and integration of SATCOM ground terminals, RF\u2011over\u2011Fiber, high\u2011power transmitters, and phased\u2011array antennas.\n * Strong background in server, storage, and network technologies (NetApp NAS, X86 virtualized servers).\n * Certifications: CompTIA Security+\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * 10+ years in satellite ground systems architecture, large\u2011scale IT project management, and hardware integration for DoD/IC programs.\n * Direct leadership of multi\u2011site SATCOM installations and experience delivering to secure USG facilities.\n * Demonstrated success managing large hardware baselines and procurement for programs\n * Hands\u2011on experience with airborne/ground C2 systems (Kratos Compass, RT Logic, ViaSat).\n * Experience with civil\u2011construction coordination for medium to large installations.\n * Knowledge of RF performance metrics (G/T, tracking performance, axial ratio, phase variation) and EMI/RFI shielding requirements.\n * Proficiency with MBSE (SysML) and Agile development tools (Jira).\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $192,800.00 - $289,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
