Yazoo Valley Electric is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Right-of-Way Technician.
Job Description Summary: Provides reliable and continuous service by ensuring proper right-of-way clearances for all electric facilities and assists in the coordination of right-of-way clearing.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Must be able to operate personal computers and other standard office equipment.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond both through oral and written expressions to inquiries or complaints from members, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: A valid Class A Mississippi Commercial Driver’s License is required. Ability to acquire licensing as necessary for herbicide application.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Working Conditions: Work is both inside and outside the organization. Some irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required. Travel may be required in the completion of job duties.
