Job Description - Risk Manager

The Risk Manager is responsible for helping analyze, write, and organize business requirements for the ARIA and FRM product teams. The role partners with teams internal to Fraud Operations, as well as external channels such as Web, Alpha, Cloud Api, and IVR to deliver tools that help mitigate fraud in the insurance and warranty claim flow.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with Sr Product Manager to create specific and succinct requirements for delivering data-driven tools to Risk Managers

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies with a goal of helping manage Development teams

  • Analyze and fill gaps in requirements that arise during development to reduce developer downtime.

  • Attend Client implementation and go-live meetings to get insights into what customizations are needed for mitigating risk; understanding timelines; and managing expectations

  • Manage projects that require multiple teams to cross the finish line together for products to be delivered

  • Evaluate and help groom the product backlog to ensure that asks are still relevant, organized, and prioritized according to user needs.

  • Become a subject matter expert of the FRM and ARIA products with enough technical involvement to perform validations of what transpired in the claim flow

  • Validate products moving to production work as expected

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to design and implement system/process improvements that enhance claims adjudication accuracy and regulatory alignment

  • Challenge processes to support scalability and consistency across business units




Professional Competencies



  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to keep requirements for multiple projects organized

  • Very strong listening and confident communication skills to extract requirements, distill them into to succinct but specific language and simplify complexity for diverse audiences.

  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.




Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree required (Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field)

  • 3+ years of experience managing processes in a fast moving or startup environment

  • Demonstrated success leading projects and initiatives as an individual contributor.

  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (SQL) preferred.

  • Familiarity with claims systems and insurance technology platforms a plus.
