Using excellent customer service and communications skills, your primary duties in this role include:                                                                                          



  • Responsible for providing professional nursing care for clinic patients under the direction of a Physician(s) and within their scope of practice according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

  • Works directly with physicians and staff in coordinating excellent patient care. Registered Nurses function as the primary liaison between patients, staff and physicians.

  •   Performs patient assessment and triage either in person or over the phone. Properly documents all encounters for providers review, flagging any urgent concerns.

  • Performs clinical care in accordance with nursing standards within the specialty; may include taking vitals, recording and verifying medications, wound care, phlebotomy, injections, administering oral and/or IV medications and treatments.

  • Provides patient and families health education. Orders prescription refills according to clinic protocol.

  • Assists physicians with procedures according to prescribed standards. Anticipates the needs of the physician.

  • Orders and maintains medical inventory of supplies as needed. Checks emergency medication and IV trays regularly. Supports the QA/QI process.

  • Cross trained in multiple areas, or assigned additional clinic duties (i.e., supply management, safety coordinator, etc.). Serves as a subject matter expert. 

  • Acts as a resource regarding workflow, policies and procedures, training new and existing staff and assists in evaluating staff efficiencies and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Assists in coordinating daily rooming assignments, cross coverage, and coverage assistance throughout the day.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Salary:


Hiring range, based on experience and credentials$50.05 - $67.71 per hour.


Workdays: This role is located at the Broadway Medical Clinic in Northeast Portland. Typical hours are 36 per week, Monday-Friday (7:30 am-5:30 pm), with a weekday off TBD. A half-day commitment on Saturday (8:00 am-12:00 pm) will be needed approximately once every two months.  


Qualifications that support success in this role are based on education, experience and values including:



  • Current Oregon state licensure as a Registered Nurse.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting. Internal Medicine & Pediatrics Healthcare experience is a plus!

  • Current CPR/BLS within 60 days of hire. ACLS may be required by specialty.

  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is strongly preferred. Epic experience is a plus!

  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.

  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.

  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.

  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.
