Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the delivery of high-quality surgical care in a fast-paced OR environment.
• Manage an average of 20-21 surgical cases per day across 4 OR suites and 1 endoscopy suite, typically running 3 suites.
• Maintain required certifications, including BLS and ACLS.
• Perform nursing duties during a variety of surgical procedures, including but not limited to:
• Orthopedic surgeries (hips, knees, shoulders, spine)
• Hernias, laparoscopic cholecystectomy
• OB/GYN procedures, hysteroscopy, hysterectomy
• Urology procedures (cysto, prostate)
• ENT and pediatric cases (tubes, tonsils, adenoids)
• Collaborate with the Charge Nurse and OR techs to ensure efficient operation and patient flow.
• Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate documentation of patient care.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities with a response time of 30 minutes, including:
• Weeknight call (4 days a month from 5:30 PM to 7 AM)
• Weekend call (at least 1 weekend day a month)
• Optional floating to PACU for tasking, though not required.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure and required certifications (BLS, ACLS).
• A minimum of 1-2 years of solid OR experience, particularly in endoscopy and orthopedics.
• No robotics experience is necessary.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Additional Information:

• Shifts are scheduled from 7 AM to 5:30 PM with block scheduling for 10-hour shifts.
• The department is closed on major holidays, with on-call as needed.
• Scrub color and dress code will be provided.
