RN - Registered Nurse - Acute Rehabilitation

A healthcare facility in Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking a junior-level Registered Nurse to join its nursing staff within the Acute Rehabilitation Unit.

This is a fully on-site, in-person position ideal for a licensed RN looking to build a foundation in acute rehabilitation nursing.

The Acute Rehab Registered Nurse will provide direct patient care within an inpatient acute rehabilitation setting, supporting patients as they progress through recovery and rehabilitation. Day-to-day responsibilities align with standard RN practice in an acute rehab unit, encompassing patient assessment, care planning, and close coordination with the broader clinical team to ensure each patient receives comprehensive, individualized support.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care within an inpatient acute rehabilitation environment


• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor ongoing clinical status


• Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each patient's recovery goals


• Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to align treatment efforts


• Administer medications and treatments as ordered


• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation throughout each shift


• Support patients through the rehabilitation process with a focus on functional progress and safety

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing program required


• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required


• Current Iowa Registered Nurse license or compact state nursing license granting the ability to practice in Iowa required
