Safety & Compliance Coordinator
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000 annually, based on experience
This position is on site in Jessup, MD.
The Safety & Compliance Coordinator supports the execution of environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs across warehouse and field service operations. This role works closely with the Warehouse Safety Manager, Operations Manager, leadership, and field teams to ensure safety programs are consistently implemented, properly documented, and effectively managed.
This position serves as a central coordination and facilitation role, supporting safety data management, compliance tracking, reporting, and program administration while enabling operations and field teams to safely execute daily work activities.
The Safety & Compliance Coordinator acts as a facilitator and coordination hub for safety and compliance execution across warehouse operations and field project sites.
This role ensures:
- Safety processes are consistently applied
- Data is accurate, timely, and visible
- Field teams are supported in execution
- Safety leadership has clear insight into risks and performance
This role is not responsible for safety outcomes or enforcement authority but enables:
- Program rollout
- Field compliance consistency
- System adoption
- Real-time communication and escalation
What You’ll Do:
Safety Program Support & Coordination
- Verify and monitor completion of:
- Daily Pre-Task Plans (PTPs) in SiteDocs
- Crew sign-ons and photo documentation
- Validate that foreman-led safety huddles are conducted
- Complete weekly Safety Spot Checks
- Conduct field observations and document findings
- Identify and escalate unsafe conditions, non-compliance, and high-risk issues
Incident Reporting & Tracking
- Support incident intake and documentation
- Ensure all of the following are logged in real time in SiteDocs/Teams: Incidents, Near misses, Observations
- Track corrective actions and investigation progress
- Ensure timely escalation to Safety Manager and Operations
- The coordinator does not lead investigations, but ensures all required data, documentation, and follow-ups are complete and visible.
Safety Systems & Data Integrity
- Support field adoption and data accuracy for:
- SiteDocs (field execution and tracking)
- Avetta/ISNetworld (contractor compliance)
- Easygenerator (training content)
- LearnUpon (onboarding platform)
- Monitor system usage compliance
- Identify and flag missing or incomplete entries
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Support system standardization and consolidation efforts
Compliance & Documentation Management
- Track and maintain visibility of:
- OSHA logs (300 / 300A / 301 support)
- Training certifications and expiration dates
- SDS libraries
- Inspection and audit documentation
- Ensure documentation is complete, current, and audit-ready
- Identify and escalate gaps
- Ensure records align with labor data and workers’ compensation records
Safety Inspections & Audit Support
- Coordinate and track completion of warehouse safety inspections and field safety audits
- Review submitted reports for accuracy and completeness
- Track and follow up on corrective actions
- Escalate high-risk or overdue issues to the Safety Manager
Training Coordination & Administration
- Coordinate required safety training, including:
- New-hire onboarding (safety component)
- OSHA-required training
- Equipment certifications
- JHA and site entry requirements
- Track completion and maintain accurate records
- Support development and distribution of training materials
Safety Metrics & Reporting
- Collect and maintain safety data, including:
- TRIR/LTIR support data
- Leading indicators (near misses, inspections, observations)
- Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports and KPI dashboards
- Support alignment between incident data, labor hours, and workers’ compensation records
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as a liaison between:
- Safety Manager
- Operations leadership
- HR and administrative teams
- Field supervisors and subcontractors
- Improve communication and consistency
- Support standardization of safety processes
- Ensure alignment across field and corporate teams
Workers’ Compensation Support
- Assist with injury reporting and documentation and claim tracking
- Support coordination of return-to-work/modified duty programs
- Maintain organized records and ensure timely follow-up
Work Environment
- Primarily in-office role based in Jessup, MD
- Close coordination with warehouse and field operations teams
- Limited travel required
- Occasional exposure to warehouse or operational environments
What You Need:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in safety, compliance, warehouse operations, or administrative coordination
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Basic understanding of OSHA requirements and warehouse & material handling risks
- Strong communication skills with supervisors, field teams, and leadership
- Proficiency in:
- Excel and data tracking systems
- Safety or incident management systems (preferred)
- Certifications (Preferred)
- OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification
- Familiarity with warehouse safety programs and compliance systems
