Our team partners with owners, public agencies, contractors, and project teams to provide construction management, inspection, quality assurance, project controls, and safety oversight on some of the nation's most complex projects.


We are currently seeking a Safety Coordinator to support ongoing mechanical construction projects at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).


This position will work alongside an experienced Senior Safety Manager already assigned to the program, providing boots-on-the-ground safety support for active construction taking place inside one of the busiest airports in the world.

✈️ Support Construction Safety at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport


Construction inside an active international airport presents challenges you simply don't encounter on a typical commercial jobsite.


We're looking for a safety professional who already understands the Hartsfield-Jackson environment and can step into an active construction program supporting mechanical projects throughout the airport.


You'll work alongside the project's Senior Safety Manager, helping maintain a strong safety culture while coordinating with contractors, trades, project management, airport personnel, and other stakeholders.


This position will initially work a night shift through 2026, with the schedule transitioning to a day shift in 2027.



Job Details


Responsibilities


Support the Senior Safety Manager with day-to-day construction safety activities throughout active airport projects.


Perform regular field safety inspections and identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential hazards.


Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with project safety requirements, OSHA standards, and established safety procedures.


Support safety activities associated with mechanical construction, including HVAC, piping, equipment installation, and related trades.


Conduct and/or participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, and pre-task planning.


Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), and other site-specific safety documentation.


Document observations, incidents, corrective actions, and safety-related field activities.


Work directly with contractors and field personnel to address safety concerns before they become incidents.


Assist with incident investigations and follow-up corrective actions when necessary.


Coordinate closely with project management, airport representatives, contractors, and the Senior Safety Manager.


Help maintain a proactive safety culture within a complex, occupied, and highly regulated airport environment.



Qualifications


Previous construction experience at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is required.


OSHA 500 certification is required.


✅ Construction safety experience supporting commercial, mechanical, aviation, infrastructure, or other complex construction projects.


✅ Comfortable working around active mechanical construction operations, multiple trades, contractors, and subcontractors.


✅ Strong working knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements and industry best practices.


✅ Ability to communicate effectively with craft personnel, superintendents, project managers, contractors, and client representatives.


✅ Strong field presence with the ability to identify hazards and professionally address safety concerns.


✅ Ability to work night shift through the remainder of 2026 and transition to day shift in 2027.


Preferred Qualifications


CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician)


CSP (Certified Safety Professional)


⭐ Additional BCSP certifications or safety credentials


⭐ Experience supporting mechanical construction within active airport facilities
