JOB SUMMARY:
The Sales Analyst I supports account-level sales analysis, reporting, merchandising activities, and forecast maintenance for assigned accounts. This individual assists with recurring sales reports, monitors business trends, prepares analysis summaries, and supports Account Managers and cross-functional teams by providing accurate data and initial observations to help inform business decisions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales Analysis and Reporting
• Performs routine account-level analysis for assigned accounts under guidance.
• Identifies account needs, trends, opportunities, and issues (i.e., GMROI, in stock, sell through %, ideal product assortments, new item performance) and shares observations based on analysis.
• Prepares analysis summaries for accounts.
• Reviews and summarizes competitive data trends for review by the Account Manager or sales leadership.
• Assists with analysis and presentation of findings for internal sales review meetings.
• Assists with post-promotional event analysis, planogram support, and monitoring progress against established business plans.
• Supports pricing and merchandising strategy discussions by preparing relevant account data and analysis.
• Assists with space planning recommendations.
Sales Support
• Supports sales opportunities by preparing account analysis and highlighting trends or exceptions.
• Assists with internal account related projects.
• Prepares supporting analysis and materials for account sales calls.
• Supports the Account Manager by providing performance analysis to help achieve business objectives.
Forecasting & Budgeting
• Maintains forecast files and updates forecast inputs for assigned accounts under direction.
• Assists with MTD, YTD, and year-end sales forecast reporting.
• Reviews historical sales, seasonality, events/promotions, pricing, demand changes, and inventory activity to support forecast recommendations.
• Participates in customer planning discussions and recurring calls as needed.
• Supports sales budget tracking and performance reporting for assigned accounts in partnership with Account Managers and the commercial team.
• Tracks remaining inventory and runout of discontinued items.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in Sales and related analytical work experience preferred.
• Basic experience with data & situational analysis.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau a plus.
• Experience with Scintilla and Charter preferred.
• Ability to prepare and analyze sales reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret data and identify trends.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.
• Capable of working under tight deadlines and a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational & prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to manage assigned tasks and priorities with guidance.
• Experience working in a retail CPG industry preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Ability to withstand prolonged periods sitting at a desk.
• Frequent use of upper extremities to perform keyboard functions and work on a computer.
• Ability to occasionally stand/walk.
