Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Sales and Operations Planning Manager, located at the Corporate Office, Bay City, MI 48708.
Job Summary The SIOP Manager is responsible for overseeing the customer supply chain process. This includes order management, procurement, scheduling, planning, and forecasting of all products. They will lead the cross-functional process to align sales forecasts, inventory targets, and operational capacity into a single, unified cross campaign strategic plan. They optimize supply chain performance, ensuring profitability, high customer service levels, and reduced inventory costs by collaborating across Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead Monthly SIOP Cycle: Facilitate the end-to-end SIOP process (demand planning, supply review, and stakeholder consensus) facilitating weekly and bi-weekly production planning and execution meetings.
- Demand & Supply Alignment: Strategically analyze and reconcile sales demand with supply and inventory capacity to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities.
- Inventory Optimization: Manage inventory levels, minimizing stockouts and excess inventory to support service objectives and financial goals.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead meetings with Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure a collaborative planning approach.
- Constraint Management: Identify strategic supply chain execution risks bringing them to bear with cross-functional team to identify options for resolution.
- Supply Chain Modeling: Leverage internal ERP system, databases and skills to create fully integrated long term strategic Supply Chain modeling capabilities.
- KPI Management & Reporting: Develop and manage metrics package for Supply Chain to include both leading and lagging metrics.
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in planning, forecasting tools, and ERP utilization to enhance efficiency.
- Reporting and Analytics: Utilize ERP, MRP, and planning systems to develop schedules, analyze data to support business decision-making, develop and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and performance metrics, prepare executive-level summaries, analyze operational performance data identifying trends impacting service levels, inventory, and schedule adherence and recommendations regarding inventory, production performance, and supply chain risks.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, planning accuracy, inventory management, and supply chain performance. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and customer service enhancement. Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.
- Experience: Generally 5+ years in supply chain, production planning, or operations, with at least 3 years in a SIOP/Demand Planning leadership role.
- Skills: Strong data analysis skills (ERP/MRP systems), high proficiency in Excel, PowerBI, database management, cross-functional leadership, and strong communication abilities.
