About the Role:

The Sales Lot Porter plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization, cleanliness, and presentation of the vehicle sales lot within the retail trade environment. This position ensures that all vehicles are clean, properly positioned, gassed, and ready for customer viewing and test drives, directly impacting the overall customer experience and sales effectiveness. The role involves communication with sales staff and management to prepare vehicles for delivery and display, as well as managing lot inventory through accurate vehicle movement and placement. The Sales Lot Porter contributes to the safety and security of the lot by monitoring vehicle conditions and reporting any issues promptly. Ultimately, this position supports the sales team by creating an inviting and professional environment that enhances the dealership’s reputation and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures interiors and exteriors of sold cars have a pristine presentation. 
• Move and position vehicles on the lot according to sales and management instructions to optimize space and display.
• Assist with vehicle deliveries and pickups, ensuring all necessary paperwork and keys are handled appropriately.
• Conduct regular inspections of vehicles for damage, cleanliness, and maintenance needs, reporting any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the sales lot, including trash removal and lot sweeping.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and dealership policies to ensure a secure working environment.

The Sales Lot Porter utilizes their driving skills daily to safely maneuver vehicles around the lot, ensuring efficient use of space and readiness for customer interaction. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting vehicles to maintain high presentation standards that positively influence customer perceptions. Communication skills are employed to coordinate effectively with sales staff and management, ensuring timely vehicle availability and addressing any issues promptly. Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
•  Must be on time and depenable to be here when scheduled.
• Ability to operate vehicles safely and confidently in a busy lot environment (5 MPH).
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as prepping and starting vehicles, standing for extended periods, and moving vehicles.
• Basic understanding of vehicle handling and safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.
• Can follow instructions given to them by their supervisor.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a similar role within automotive retail or related industries.
• Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and detailing techniques.
• Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with sales and management teams.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
