Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to join our U.S. team. This role will drive technical sales and business development efforts in North America for Amorim’s Space and Defense clients. The role will be responsible for identifying opportunities, developing relationships with key engineering and procurement contacts, and delivering cork-based materials solutions tailored to demanding performance requirements. This position requires close collaboration with Amorim’s technical, manufacturing, and R&D teams located at our headquarters and innovation center in Portugal, ensuring alignment between customer needs and our product development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow Amorim’s presence in the U.S. aerospace and defense markets.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and other industrial customers.
• Engage directly with customer engineering and procurement teams to define technical requirements and propose optimal material solutions.
• Collaborate with Amorim’s technical and R&D teams in Portugal to communicate customer needs, support new product development, and ensure      timely delivery of engineering data and prototypes.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and quotations tailored to customer applications.
• Manage all stages of the sales process—from lead generation and qualification through negotiation, contract award, and after-sales support.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, competing technologies, and evolving customer needs.
• Represent Amorim Cork Solutions at industry events, conferences, and trade shows as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree. Preferred Engineering discipline, or Business/Management. 
• US Citizen
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales of engineered or      material-based products to engineering customers, ideally within the aerospace/defense or composite materials industries.
• Proven success working within a manufacturing environment, with an      understanding of industrial processes and quality requirements.
• Strong technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; ability to interface effectively with technical and business audiences.

Key account management experience, must have managed customers over $1M in size and a region of $5M or more turnover

• Comfortable working with cross-cultural and international teams; experience collaborating across time zones preferred.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (including periodic travel to Portugal headquarters). Up to 30%.
