Sales Representative

We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Outside Sales Representative to join our Sacramento team. This individual will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and promoting CD & Power's generator sales, service, and rental solutions throughout the assigned territory.

Base Salary: $108,000 - $120,000 annually

Actual starting compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, territory responsibilities, business needs, and internal equity.

Additional incentive compensation may be available pursuant to a separate written compensation plan.

Essential Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers.


• Prospect for new business opportunities within the assigned territory.


• Conduct in-person customer visits, job walks, and site evaluations.


• Identify customer needs and recommend generator sales, rental, and service solutions.


• Prepare and support proposals, bids, quotations, and customer presentations.


• Maintain accurate prospect, customer, activity, and opportunity records in the company CRM.


• Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline.


• Coordinate with Service, Rental, Operations, and Sales teams to deliver customer solutions.


• Attend industry association meetings, trade shows, and networking events.


• Perform regular customer follow-up activities.


• Submit monthly and quarterly sales activity and opportunity reports.


• Develop relationships with electrical contractors, general contractors, facility managers, property managers, and other key decision-makers.


• Promote all CD & Power departments including Generator Sales, Service, and Rentals.


• Participate in departmental, sales, and company meetings.


• Continuously develop product, service, and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Proven success in business development, outside sales, account management, or a similar customer-facing role.


• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.


• Excellent presentation and organizational abilities.


• Ability to identify opportunities, develop sales pipelines, and achieve performance goals.


• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel) and CRM systems.


• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.


• Experience in generators, power systems, construction, industrial equipment, electrical contracting, or related industries is preferred.

Travel Requirements

This position requires regular travel throughout the assigned territory to customer facilities, project sites, and business-development meetings.

Because travel between customer locations is an essential function of this role and comparable transportation alternatives are not reasonably available, applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
