Job Description - Sales Representative - Government

Company Description

Mapbox is a mapping platform for developers. Our building blocks make it easy to integrate location into any mobile or online application. We want to change the way people move around cities and understand our planet.

Our tools help assess hurricane damage with drones and track disease outbreaks in real time. We got our start building better maps for government: mapping elections in Afghanistan and Sudan, visualizing every National Park Service trail, identifying broadband coverage gaps for the Federal Communications Commission, and helping the Department of Energy assess solar energy potential across America.

Job Description

We’re looking for someone who knows the federal space and can help us identify new opportunities and partners. You’ll lead Mapbox’s outbound government sales: walking halls and working phones, hosting and attending events, and digging into use cases to cultivate and qualify leads. You’ll work with our business team to scope requirements and craft proposals and with our engineering team to build and demonstrate the tools. The work will focus on the defense and intelligence communities and quickly expand to federal civilian agencies.

  • A strong ethical compass. We stand for human rights and civil liberties.
  • Enterprise sales experience or a desire to learn the trade.
  • Rock solid written and verbal communications skills.
  • Devotion to systems, repeatability, efficiency, and measurement. Data and scalability win every argument at Mapbox.
  • An active security clearance, ideally TS.
