Frank Beer Distributors in Middleton, WI is now hiring a Sales Representative - Relief. The team members of Frank Beer Distributors are committed, innovative leaders of the beverage industry through marketing, selling, distributing, merchandising, and servicing quality products to our valued customers. 

The Sales Relief Representative plays a key support role for both on- and off-premise sales teams by handling merchandising tasks and covering sales   routes in the absence of regular representatives. Responsibilities include managing inventory, placing sales orders, providing pricing information, and conducting market surveys. Success in this role requires a strong commitment   to our company’s culture and values—acting with integrity, demonstrating   enthusiasm and expertise, and contributing to a team-oriented environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor customer credit status and collect payments on outstanding invoices.
  • Support customers with inventory management, including stock rotation, new product placement, seasonal adjustments, promotional planning, and sales trend analysis.
  • Present and sell new brands and product lines to customers.
  • Conduct supplier surveys and maintain accurate tracking.
  • Handle and deliver urgent ("hot shot") orders as needed.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the wine, spirit, and/or beer portfolio, including ongoing promotions.
  • Actively participate in team sales meetings and on-site training sessions.
  • Communicate professionally and collaboratively with internal teams, including merchandisers, delivery drivers, operations staff, customer service, and Frank Beer colleagues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with on- and/or off-premise accounts, ensuring proactive and respectful customer engagement.
  • Share up-to-date pricing and promotional program details with customers.
  • Learn and support sales routes by covering for unavailable sales representatives, including managing inventory, placing orders, providing pricing information, and conducting market surveys.
  • Assist with merchandising, collaborate on special projects, and support fellow sales representatives when not covering routes.
  • Help coordinate vacation coverage for sales team members.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards, monitor product codes, and ensure proper rotation of all date-sensitive products.

Off Premise:

  • Utilizes and places point of sale materials and builds displays that meets company and supplier guidelines
  • Maintains an inventory of current POS and coupons in vehicle and applies rebates and coupons to packages and displays
  • Takes inventory and reorganizes back stocks, refills cold boxes, shelves, displays and dusts product as needed
  • Provides retail customers with directions to beer, wine, or spirit products with assistance from store personnel
  • Works with category management to assist in resets
  • Suggests, utilizes, creates, places new and existing point of sale materials including menu cards and permanent signage

On-Premise:

  • Recommends, designs, and installs both new and existing point-of-sale materials, including menu cards and permanent signage, to enhance product visibility and customer engagement.
  • Possesses foundational knowledge of various draft beer systems and can perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • Goal-driven, assertive, and focused with a persuasive approach to influencing buying decisions.
  • Solid basic math skills, including the ability to calculate pricing structures,   promotions, and cost of goods.
  • Comfortable delivering informal presentations in customer or team settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and possesses intermediate-level computer skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
  • Demonstrated resilience, adaptability, and the ability to navigate changing priorities and challenges.
  • Effective time and project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Skilled at working with diverse internal teams and customer personalities, including handling difficult or high-demand interactions professionally.
  • Well-organized and capable of prioritizing a dynamic workload efficiently.
  • Able to follow both oral and written instructions with precision.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build, maintain, and grow productive customer relationships.
  • Familiarity with the PROFIT steps of a sales call and supplier quality assurance standards.
  • Working knowledge of eoTouch software for conducting inventory, navigating pricing, reviewing deal structures, and submitting orders.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) required; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant experience in distribution, hospitality, beverage, or supplier industries is required.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of insurance are required; mileage reimbursement is provided.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain any required liquor salesperson permits.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends.
  • Residence within or near the assigned sales territory is preferred.
