Sanitation Supervisor


 


Department:  Quality Assurance/Sanitation


Status: Regular Full-time


Employee Classification: Exempt


Reports To:  Quality Assurance & Sanitation Manager


Supervisory Responsibilities:  Yes


Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 7:00pm to 5:00am


 


Job Summary:  Supervise Sanitation Technicians and ensure Sanitation of Equipment, Production Tools, Facility Environment are to the highest of standards. Creation, implementation and reinforcement of standard operating practices, policies, and procedures for Sanitation Department.


Essential Functions:



  1. Supervise sanitary operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures

  2. Ensure complete sanitation of production equipment and the environment in accordance with the established Sanitation policies and SOPs.

  3. Responsible for maintaining safety policies and GMPs throughout the facility.

  4. Schedule, train, coach, and conduct performance reviews for Sanitation Technicians

  5. Review/Create/Revise Sanitation Policies and SOPs for continuous improvement

  6. Ensure adherence to the Master Sanitation Schedule

  7. Schedule and conduct shift meetings

  8. Proactively identify areas for improvement for plant sanitation

  9. Conduct or delegate verification steps of Sanitation SOPs

  10. Promote safety, and enforce all company policies and procedures

  11. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  12. Directly supervises employees.

  13. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  14. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  1. Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  2. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.

  3. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

  4. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

  5. Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software


Working Conditions/Physical Factors:



  1. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions.

  2. Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.

  3. Worker may be exposed to hazards in the work place such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical current

  4. Must be able to work in environment containing allergens (nuts, milk, wheat, etc.)

  5. Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time

  6. Occasionally required to use hands and fingers 

  7. Frequently required to talk or hear

  8. Frequently required to taste and smell

  9. Frequently required to lift/push/pull/carry weight up to 50 pounds

  10. Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

  11. Exposure to moving mechanical parts

  12. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles
