Sanitation Worker - Belgravia (Nights)

Job Description

Salary: $18.65 per hour

Hours: 1am - 6am + OT

Finish of normal production and during pre‑operation checks and preparation.  The work is performed in a variety of locations, mostly in a standing and mobile environment with constant exposure to water/moisture and cleaning compounds.  All areas and equipment must be manually cleaned, i.e. hose down, pre‑soak, second rinse.  Then visual inspection of all areas and equipment must be done.   Repeat any procedures necessary until area and equipment is thoroughly clean according to company and U.S.D.A. requirements

Manually prepare all necessary equipment and supplies/cleaning compound.

• Check rotation schedule to ensure proper work locations.


• Manually remove all equipment guards, covers, and overhead pans in preparation for cleaning; place these pieces in a location accessible for cleaning but out of the way of foot traffic and other workers.


• Perform initial rinse of area and equipment removing all large pieces of waste materials.


• Apply manually pre‑soak to equipment and surrounding areas; allow soaking for the recommended time period.


• Second rinse all pre‑soaked areas.


• Visually inspect work in progress and, if necessary, continue to soak and rinse to loosen waste materials.


• Hand scrub all areas that have not come clean; re‑rinse.


• Continue to clean and re‑inspect all areas for you responsible until Quality Assurance Inspectors have released the area for production.

Basic Qualifications

• Able to do basic math, counting, telling of time and temperatures.


• Ability to understand and communicate in English. Able to follow instructions, both verbal and demonstrated.                      


• Previous production type experience preferred. Must be able to stand at workstation and other positions as assigned.


• Good hand‑eye coordination. 


• Ability to make quick quality judgment decisions within the levels of assigned duties
