SCA Engineering Technician I

SAIC is seeking an Engineering Technician I to join our team in Hanahan, SC. This position is 100% on site.

Job Description:

The Engineering Technician I supports engineering and technical staff in the development, integration, testing, and maintenance of electronic systems and equipment. This entry-level role focuses on hands-on work with electronic components and assemblies in a production, or field environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in assembly, installation, wiring, and modification of electronic systems, subassemblies, and test fixtures.


• Perform routine testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic circuits, boards, and equipment using standard test instruments (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators).


• Execute test procedures, record results accurately, and provide clear feedback to engineers on performance issues and anomalies.


• Maintain documentation, including test logs, configuration records, and equipment calibration data.


• Support adherence to company, customer, and government quality, safety, and security standards.


• Provide semi-professional technical support for engineers working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement. 


• Perform simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures.


• Assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting. 

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Fundamental knowledge of DC/AC circuits, electronic components, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with ESD-safe work practices and IPC/industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret simple schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical work instructions.
• Proficiency with common hand tools and electronic test equipment.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance as required by contract.
