Position Summary



The Scaffold Technician II performs scaffold erection, modification, dismantling, material handling, and access support with limited supervision. This position is expected to understand basic scaffold components, follow safe work practices, support crew productivity, and assist less experienced scaffold personnel while working under the direction of a Lead, Foreman, or Supervisor.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities



· Perform scaffold erection, modification, dismantling, staging, and material movement in accordance with supervisor direction.


· Select, carry, stage, organize, and install scaffold components, tools, equipment, and materials safely and correctly.


· Assist with building safe access systems, work platforms, guardrails, toe boards, ladders, and related scaffold features.


· Follow scaffold plans, work instructions, site requirements, fall protection requirements, and safe work practices.


· Inspect scaffold components for visible damage, defects, missing parts, or unsafe conditions and report concerns.


· Maintain clean, organized, and controlled scaffold work areas before, during, and after work activities.


· Assist with mentoring Scaffold Technician I personnel on basic scaffold components, material handling, and field expectations.


· Report production issues, safety concerns, access constraints, material shortages, or equipment needs to the Lead or Foreman.



Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities



· Working knowledge of basic scaffold components, tools, materials, and safe erection and dismantling methods.


· Ability to perform scaffold tasks with limited supervision while following crew direction.


· Ability to recognize unsafe scaffold conditions, damaged materials, access issues, and housekeeping concerns.


· Ability to use hand tools, scaffold equipment, fall protection, and material handling methods safely.


· Ability to communicate clearly with Leads, Foremen, Supervisors, and crew members.


· Ability to work effectively in shipyard, vessel, confined space, and industrial environments.



Training, Security, Education & Physical Requirements



· High school diploma or GED preferred.


· Prior scaffold, construction, shipyard, or industrial experience required.


· Ability to wear required PPE, including fall protection when required.


· Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, aboard vessels, and in active industrial environments.


· Ability to lift, carry, climb, bend, kneel, stand, and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.


· Ability to work overtime, weekends, nights, or shift work as required by project needs.


· Applicable safety, access, trade, or customer-required credentials must be obtained and maintained when required for assigned work.
