Scheduler - Surgery

The Surgical Coordinator/Scheduler is primarily responsible for providing complete patient pre-operative and post-operative surgical scheduling functions for the assigned physician. Coordinates scheduling of the surgical sites and appointments for all physicians while facilitating surgical dates with patients. Assures surgeon preferences with the available resources. Obtains necessary authorizations and referrals from primary care physicians, specialists, and insurance companies. Medical office coordinator and additional duties may be assigned.

• Displays concern and provides assistance or explains procedures as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations6.Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner
