Job Title: Registered School Nurse (R.N.)

Location: Universal Academy, Coppell

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered School Nurse (R.N.) to join our team at Universal Academy, Coppell. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the health and wellbeing of our students, and a passion for providing high-quality healthcare within an educational setting.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness.


2. Develop health plans for students with chronic illnesses and disabilities.


3. Educate students and staff on healthy habits, such as proper nutrition and hygiene.


4. Monitor immunizations, manage communicable diseases, and coordinate infection control.


5. Assess and treat students and staff as needed.


6. Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure the health and safety of students.


7. Maintain accurate medical records for all students.


8. Administer daily and PRN (as needed) medications and nursing care procedures prescribed by the student's physician.

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


2. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.


3. Ability to handle stressful situations and react quickly in emergency situations.


4. Proficient in basic medical procedures and understanding of child growth and development.


5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Certifications:

The candidate must be a Registered Nurse (R.N.) with a valid nursing license. Additional certifications in pediatric nursing, school nursing, or a related field would be a plus.
