Who We Are:

• Eye Thrive is a locally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit that empowers children to pursue their full potential by delivering essential eyecare across the St. Louis region. 


• We operate two Mobile Vision Clinics that bring comprehensive vision care directly to the populations we serve, both at schools and community visits.


• We provide vision screenings, comprehensive eye exams, prescription glasses, replacement glasses, and follow-up care referrals, all completely free of charge.
  

Job Overview:

• The School Partnership Coordinator (SPC) role is a critical, front line role at Eye Thrive.  Their core day to day duties include cultivating and maintaining relationships with site partners (i.e. school nurses, teachers, library staff), initiating  and executing pre and post visits, communicating all visit logistics with site partners, conducting vision screenings, and managing the pace of Mobile Vision Clinic (MVC) visits. 


• An SPC collaborates with all teams - Operations, Development, and leadership - to create/improve and implement systems that increase the efficiency of our service and impact of our organization.  


• An effective SPC understands  the value of, and prioritizes, strong relationships with site partners, is a solution focused problem solver with the ability to pivot in the moment, can work independently, and has the organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects. 

Job Type:  

• Permanent; Full Time; Exempt. 


• Expected 40 hours/week; Monday-Friday; Occasional weekends.


• Participation in morning/evening meetings and special events will be required as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead Site Partner Contact - 30%
  
  
  
  • Establish and maintain communication with site partners before, during, and after visits. Clearly communicate all policies and procedures. 
  
  
  • Coordinate and lead nurse Professional Development sessions for school districts. 
  
  
  • Cultivate strong relationships with site partners.  
  
  
  • Manage logistics of pre-visits, post-visits, and MVC visits and communicate plans and/or any changes to appropriate team and leadership in the moment. 
  
  
  • Update and manage MVC visit schedule. 
  
  
  • Deliver follow-up surveys to teachers and site partners and ensure execution and return.  
  
  
  • Provide additional resources to parents and/or school as needed. 
  
  
  • Engage in positive interactions with children and families. Build relationships based on compassion and respect. 
  
  
  • Recognize moments and stories of success. Capture stories with high-quality photos and videos.
  
  
  
  

• Vision Screening - 30%
  
  
  
  • Prepare site schedule and primary list of children with valid consent forms. 
  
  
  • Perform vision screenings and accurately enter patient information into the Electronic Medical Records system. 
  
  
  • Document and share vision screening results with children/families and site partners.  
  
  
  • Foster positive connections with children aged 4-18 to encourage vision health.
  
  
  
  

• Mobile Vision Clinic - 25%
  
  
  
  • Manage efficient flow of children to and from MVC. Provide clear communication with site partners and the Eye Thrive team during visit.  Prioritize safety of children walking to and from the MVC. 
  
  
  • Make informed, quick decisions with team members on board and lead any changes or shifts.
  
  
  • Assist children with frame selection and ensure proper frame fit and satisfaction and demonstrate how to care for glasses and share helpful tips.
  
  
  • Assist team with site set-up and tear-down. 
  
  
  • Analyze visit data and trends and summarize visit outcomes.  
  
  
  
  

• All Team and Project Support - 10%
  
  
  
  • Participate in supporting Operations/Development/Administrative teams (i.e. data management support,  survey review support, health fair liaison, etc. ) as needed.
  
  
  • Collaborate with all team members to increase the efficiency of our service and impact of our organization.  
  
  
  • Partner with leadership to help implement Eye Thrives strategic plan, and advance the plan by holding self accountable and collaborating with the team to  ensure organizational priorities, goals, and targets are met as outlined in the work plan.
  
  
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, including coachings, trainings, and workshops. 
  
  
  
  

• General Organization Support - 5%

  • Execute Eye Thrive’s mission by centering kids and families in all decisions and actions. Lead with empathy, compassion, and trust in your interactions with site partners, kids, and teammates.
  
  
  • Maintain constant, consistent and open communication with all members of the Eye Thrive team in order to contribute to our “all hands on deck” organizational model - an informed team is a successful one.  
  
  
  • Support organization-wide initiatives, including special events, fundraisers, stewardship activities, and community outreach or operations, as needed.
  
  
  • Complete other tasks as assigned and required by direct supervisor or CEO.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds at Eye Thrive visits and/or events during set-up and tear-down.
  
  
  • Able to move up and down stairwells; frequent standing, reaching and stooping – 75% or more of the workday may be spent standing on feet.
  
  
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle to travel to schools and community centers and between office locations.

  • Work at a shared workspace office at Eye Thrive headquarters at the Delmar DivINe and at Eye Thrive warehouse in Overland.
  
  
  • Frequent travel to Mobile Vision Clinic at various schools and community centers throughout Greater St. Louis.
