Competitive Salary Range that Outpaces DOE Scale: $75,000 to $110,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience

Terrific Middle School Science Teacher position beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year with a Charter School in the NYC area. This position will join a highly collaborative and mission-driven school focused on meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of its 400+ students. The ideal Science Teacher will have a passion for teaching and providing expertise in science education to a student population impacted by foster care or the child welfare system.

Responsibilities:

Develop and teach curriculum and lessons that comply with Common Core Standards and meet grade expectations and outcomes

Provide instruction and expertise in the subject of science education

Participate in staff development programs and opportunities

Collect and evaluate academic data to inform lessons and instruction

Evaluate students progress through a variety of assessments

Qualifications:

Approximately 2+ years of relevant teaching experience in science

Master's degree preferred, NYS teaching certification is a plus but not required

Experience in a charter school environment is a plus

Subject matter expert in science education

Strong classroom management

Mission-driven individual, passionate about teaching in underserved communities
