Scientific Director, Global Medical Affairs - ATTR

\n\nOverview\n\nThe Scientific Director, Global Medical Affairs \u2013 ATTR serves as a global scientific subject matter expert supporting the ATTR franchise, with a primary focus on scientific content generation and written scientific outputs. This role reports to the VP, Medical Affairs, TTR and works in close partnership with Global Medical Leads across ATTR assets (e.g., Vutrisiran, Nucresiran).\n\nThe role will contribute deep scientific expertise to publications strategy, investigator\u2011initiated studies (IIS), research collaborations, post\u2011hoc analyses, Phase 4 activities, and business development due diligence, with a strong emphasis on hands\u2011on writing, protocol development, and scientific review.\n\nThe role supports increasing demand for high\u2011quality scientific content and evidence generation across the ATTR franchise and will function as a core internal SME supporting cross\u2011functional teams.\n\n \n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n \n\nScientific Content Development \u0026 Publications\n\n * Serve as a scientific SME contributing to global publication strategy, planning, and execution.\n * Draft, review, and critically edit scientific manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks, and congress materials.\n * Provide scientific leadership on data interpretation and scientific storytelling, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the overall evidence strategy.\n\n\n\n \n\nEvidence Generation\n\n * Support development, review, and execution of the integrated evidence generation plan across the ATTR franchise.\n * Support IIS, Research Collaboration, Phase 4, post-marketing, post-hoc analyses, real-world evidence activities, including scientific review, study and analyses design, feasibility assessment, data interpretation, and ongoing oversight.\n * Lead protocol development and review across evidence generation activities, with a focus on scientific rigor and relevance.\n\n\n\n \n\nCross\u2011Functional Scientific Partnership\n\n * Collaborate closely with Global Medical Leads, Publications and Scientific Communications, Clinical Research, Regulatory, HEOR, and Commercial partners to ensure alignment and scientific integrity.\n * Support cross\u2011functional deep dives led by Value Evidence Strategy teams, synthesizing scientific and clinical data into clear, written outputs.\n * Provide scientific input into business development and licensing (BD\u0026L) due diligence, including literature reviews, data gap assessments, and scientific risk evaluation.\n * Contribute to internal briefing documents, scientific summaries, and strategic analyses to inform senior leadership decision\u2011making.\n * Serve as a trusted internal scientific reviewer for medical materials, protocols, and external\u2011facing scientific content.\n * Ensure all activities adhere to medical governance, compliance, and ethical standards.\n\n\n\n \n\nQualifications\n\n * PharmD, PhD or MD\n * 3-5+ years of relevant experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.\n * Experience in cardiovascular, renal, metabolic, or ATTR disease areas strongly preferred.\n * Demonstrated primary authorship and substantial contribution to peer\u2011reviewed publications.\n * Strong experience in medical, scientific, and grant writing (e.g., research proposals, manuscripts) and reviewing or developing clinical or post\u2011marketing study protocols.\n * Prior exposure to BD due diligence or structured scientific evaluations strongly preferred.\n * Deep interest in and aptitude for written scientific work; this role emphasizes writing over presenting.\n * Ability to critically analyze data and translate complex science into clear written narratives.\n\n\n\n \n\nU.S. Pay Range\n\n$238,800.00 - $323,000.00\n\nThe pay range reflects the full-time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
