The person in this position must have a good sense of fun and a desire to entertain while narrating a sightseeing tour multiple times a work shift on an amphibious vehicle on busy public streets and in busy waterways while keeping the Company’s mission. The Sea and Land Adventure (SEAL) Guide/First Mate brings to life the history of America in a respectful, accurate, and engaging way. This position also ensures that our Company’s high standards of safety and the US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations are followed. Our guests judge our company and all of our other CASTmembers by the way you handle your duties.

Essential Functions
Narrate a scripted sightseeing tour in a clear, audible voice on an amphibious vehicle while on busy public streets and in busy waterway. Tours are approximately 100 minutes in duration and given up to 4 times daily.
Perform duties of an unlicensed deckhand on the vessel.
Raise and lower ladder, secure all doors, and assist with manual lift.
Board and exit amphibious vehicles properly and assist all patrons with boarding and exiting.
Assist with guest check-in when required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently and in groups over long periods of time and with a Captain within the scope of established rules and regulations.
Ability to learn scripted story and relay scripted story in an entertaining manner, in front of and audience on a moving amphibious vehicle.
Ability to be heard in a loud, audible voice with or without amplification by an audience.
Ability to give the scripted tour in the time allowed.
Ability to read, write, and speak clear English in order to communicate with co-workers, the general public, law enforcement, and emergency personnel.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
Strong interest in history is preferred.
Prior performance or interpretation experience preferred.
Other Requirements
Must pass pre-employment background check and substance abuse testing.
Must pass CPR/First Aid training course provided by employer.
Have a passion for helping people and making their San Diego experience a memorable one.
