HIRING RANGE: $17.00 PER HOUR

About the Position:

The Seasonal BID Staff will assist with the production and coordination of all the Downtown Special Events and other activities related to the Business Improvement District.

The Business Improvement District (BID) produces and supports events that attract visitors, enrich residents' lives, and drive revenue to local businesses. The BID also develops advertising, marketing, and public relations campaigns that reach regional, statewide, and national audiences and help brand Downtown as a regional hub.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with all Downtown signature events, including but not limited to: Market on Main, Fourth of July parade, Rhythm and Brews Concert Series, Car Show, Art Festival, Spooktacular, Tree Lighting, and Parade of Lights. You can view the full calendar of events on the Downtown Grand Junction website. 


• Assist with pre-event needs. This may include working before an event to prepare signs, organize materials, or receive training for that specific event.


• Administer SNAP and Double Up to customers during Market on Main (training provided).


• As needed, assist in setting up and taking down events. This includes setting up and removing traffic cones, tents, tables, and other items needed for the event.


• Serve as a supplemental liaison with vendors to identify their needs and ensure satisfaction.


• Assist the Event Coordinator in proactively overseeing events, handling any arising issues, and troubleshooting any emerging problems on the day of the event.


• Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. 


• Lift up to 40 pounds


• Serve as a friendly face and representative of Downtown Grand Junction.


• Exhibit good customer service skills by helping vendors find their locations, sorting through concerns, and answering questions from the public.

What We're Looking For:

• Applicants must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, background check, and, if required for the specific position, a physical examination.  


• High School Diploma or G.E.D.


• Strong interpersonal communication skills


• Basic computer skills


• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license.


• Must be available to work weekends.
