Security Guard

Adamas Building Services is seeking a professional, alert, and physically capable Security Officer to join our team in Berkeley Heights, NJ. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong, confident, and commanding presence while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, customer service, and safety.

This position is well suited for an individual who is comfortable maintaining control of challenging situations, enforcing property rules, managing confrontational interactions, and responding decisively when necessary. Candidates should possess sound judgment, excellent situational awareness, and the ability to de-escalate conflicts while maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

Pay: $21 / Hour

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible, professional security presence throughout the assigned property.
• Monitor access points, enforce property policies, and help prevent unauthorized access.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to disturbances, conflicts, and security incidents.
• Utilize effective verbal de-escalation and conflict-resolution techniques to manage difficult interactions.
• Demonstrate confidence and composure when dealing with aggressive, disruptive, or uncooperative individuals.
• Conduct routine patrols and remain attentive to potential safety and security concerns.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate relevant concerns to management.
• Assist residents, visitors, employees, and guests while maintaining appropriate security boundaries.
• Follow established emergency response procedures and company protocols.

Qualifications

• Previous security, loss prevention, law enforcement, military, or related experience preferred.
• Experience in crowd management, access control, or handling confrontational situations is a plus.
• Strong situational awareness, sound judgment, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a confident, authoritative, and professional presence.
• Physically capable of performing essential job functions, including standing, walking, and conducting patrols for extended periods.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Valid New Jersey security credentials or applicable licensing, as required for the position.
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
