Security Officer for Park and Cemetery

As a Security Officer for Park and Cemetery in Whittier, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Patrol Officer at a respected cultural institution, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. In this dynamic location, you will support a caring environment through teamwork, reliability, and integrity while bringing a calm, professional approach to daily interactions and routine patrol responsibilities.

Job Schedule:

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, guests, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities in a respectful and professional manner.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the grounds, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, unsecured areas, and/or conditions that may require attention.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity to help support orderly operations during services, events, and daily visitation, while offering directions and general assistance as appropriate.
• Complete routine reports and pass-down communication regarding patrol findings, incidents, and/or maintenance concerns to help support ongoing awareness at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
