Job Description - Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant ensures the integrity of revenue accounting for Eventus WholeHealth by recording, verifying, and reconciling revenue transactions and supporting revenue recognition in compliance with U.S. GAAP (ASC 606). Reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager.  This role owns day-to-day revenue accounting close, reconciliations, and analytics, and serves as the designated back-up for the Accounting Manager—cross-trained to cover balance sheet, general ledger close, and audit-support responsibilities as needed.


Qualifications: Education, Licensure and Certifications, Related Work Experience



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required

  • Healthcare industry experience preferred

  • Public accounting experience preferred

  • Sage Intacct experience preferred


Other specialized skills and knowledge necessary to perform this job. (e.g., basic accounting principles, computer skills and software, specific healthcare processes, interpersonal, communication, etc.



  • Knowledge of revenue recognition under U.S. GAAP (ASC 606) and solid understanding of the revenue accounting close


  • Advanced Excel skills and strong reconciliation and analytical skills, including revenue and budget-vs-actual variance analysis



  • Previous experience with Sage Intacct preferred; familiarity with external billing systems and revenue-cycle data

  • Excellent attention to detail, sound judgment, and confidentiality; strong written and verbal communication; team-oriented


Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities



  • Complete all revenue accounting activities to post revenue to the general ledger from the external billing system; own revenue accounting close efforts, including accruals

  • Review sales and revenue information for accuracy and completeness, and proactively resolve revenue-related issues

  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews and reconciliations to ensure revenue recognition complies with U.S. GAAP (ASC 606) and applicable regulations

  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance

  • Analyze revenue performance and analytics to identify risks and opportunities to improve the revenue cycle

  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports, schedules, worksheets, and narratives, including budget-vs-actual variance reports, and document significant variances

  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and support the year-end audit, working with external auditors on revenue recognition

  • Serve as the designated back-up for the Accounting Manager—cross-trained to cover balance sheet, general ledger close, and audit-support duties as needed

  • Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas, and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures

  • Other related duties as assigned.

·        Promptly report any violations of federal and state privacy laws and Eventus WholeHealth


·        policies and procedures to Eventus WholeHealth’s Chief Compliance and Risk Officer.


Documentation and Record Keeping:


·        Maintain accurate and complete documentation when performing the job duties.


·        Ensure that all Eventus WholeHealth information, data, documentation, and records are always safeguarded and maintained confidentially.


Training and Education:


·        Participate in all assigned training.


·        Complete all assigned training by the deadline for completion.


Risk Management and Incident Reporting:


·        Engage in regular risk assessments to identify potential risks and work proactively with a supervisor and Eventus WholeHealth’s Chief Compliance and Risk Officer to mitigate any identified risks.


·        Promptly report any incidents (as defined in the “Incident Report Policy”) to the Chief Compliance and Risk Officer.
