Sr. Accountant
Ingersoll Cutting Tools Company is proud to be part of the IMC Group of Companies with 150 subsidiaries in 60 countries. Our US operations are housed on our state-of-the-art manufacturing and marketing campus in Rockford, Illinois. We are currently accepting applications for a Senior Accountant.
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing general accounting processes, maintaining financial records, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, cost accounting support and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role will work closely with operations, production, inventory management, and leadership teams to provide accurate financial information that supports business decisions.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP
- Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Coordinate actions and journal entry postings intersecting various accounting functions
- Review and reconcile accounting activity between global network of affiliated companies
- Prepare monthly reports for the parent company
- Prepare reports for quarterly and annual audits
- Support inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing variance analysis
- Monitor cost accounting links to ensure proper expense allocation of A/P invoices
- Review and approve or release all outgoing payments by check, ACH or wire
- Monitor all incoming and outgoing cash flow in bank accounts and generate periodic forecasts
- Troubleshoot ERP issues
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and assist in creation of new policies/procedures
Skills/Qualifications:
- Requires a CPA with minimum 2 years relevant accounting experience OR bachelor’s degree in accounting with minimum 5 years relevant work experience OR associate degree in accounting with minimum 8 years relevant work experience
- Preferred candidate will have 5 or more years progressive experience, ideally from within a manufacturing environment, performing accounting roles similar to the posted primary responsibilities of this position
- Experience working cross-functionally, including production and marketing departments
- Ability to accurately prepare timely reports. Monthly closing process with strict deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office programs
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to work both independently as well as with others in a team environment. Candidates should be highly organized, pays close attention to detail and accuracy, possess a good work ethic, be safety conscious, and self-motivated with a proven capacity to multi-task. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy, strong attention to detail and a professional demeanor, with the ability to keep a cool head in stressful situations is desired.
Salary consideration starting at $62K.
