Senior Accountant

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• To assist with monthly financial close within the scheduled time frames.


• Requires a self-starter capable of working independently handling multiple tasks & performing under the pressure of deadlines. 


• Should be professional in appearance, detail oriented, exceptional organizational skills & have a high energy level.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

Education

• Four-year degree. BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Experience              

• 5-6 years of experience in public accounting or in multi-entity general ledger close, financial statement preparation and account reconciliation. 


• Superior level skills in computer technology with knowledge of Microsoft Office and extensive Excel knowledge; experience with Great Plain Dynamics and Management Reporter a plus. 


• Healthcare or long term care experiences a plus.


• Requires someone with the ability to work as a professional with others in a team environment. 

Specific Requirements

• Review and maintain assigned nursing facilities’ general ledgers.


• Preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and with a high degree of accuracy.


• Prepare and enter journal entries for payroll, accruals, and other month end items by deadline.


• Analyze revenue and expenses to communicate variances to financial leaders.


• Maintain Intercompany and balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.


• Maintain capital expenditures ledger.


• Preparation of interim and year-end audit work papers.


• Assist with Medicaid/Medicare cost report audit requests.


• Other related financial/census reporting.


• Generate monthly reports to be distributed to facility and corporate management

• Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager and CFO
