Pay: $90,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year

Location: New York, NY. This hybrid opportunity combines in-person collaboration with flexibility. Candidates near NYC or willing to relocate are strongly preferred; remote arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates.

Note: Candidates must have 3+ years of direct multi-unit franchise accounting experience supporting restaurant or retail businesses, including recurring, end-to-end close ownership. This is a hands-on individual contributor role today, with a path toward leadership.

Job Description

• Own recurring month-end closes for multi-unit franchise businesses, reviewing and finalizing system-prepared books.
• Investigate discrepancies, correct classifications, and validate automated journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate, GAAP-compliant accrual books across multiple entities, including consolidations and intercompany activity.
• Reconcile POS sales to bank deposits, accounting for discounts, delivery-platform deductions, processor fees, tips, chargebacks, and timing differences.
• Post payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll activity to provider records.
• Partner with our product and technology teams to improve accounting workflows, inform product decisions, and help our AI tools learn from your expertise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-unit restaurant or retail franchise accounting experience.
• Proven ownership of the full close process in QuickBooks Online, Restaurant365, Sage Intacct, or comparable software.
• Strong working knowledge of multi-entity accrual accounting, consolidations, intercompany transactions, POS reconciliation, and payroll accounting.
• Active CPA licensure, multi-state sales tax experience, and experience training or supervising accountants are preferred, not required.
