The System Offices is one of several system members within the Texas A&M University System representing one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation, with a network of 12 universities, a comprehensive health science center, nine state agencies, and the RELLIS Campus. Salary:
$16.04 - $25.75 per hour commensurate with experience.
Job Description Summary:
This position will be responsible for providing general assistance to one or more attorneys in the Institutional Compliance section of the Office of General Counsel.
Responsibilities:
- Review incoming correspondence for responses required, deadline dates, scheduling of meetings, etc.
- Prepare standard letters and forms and draft routine correspondence.
- Prepares draft significant matter reports.
- Finalize attorneys' correspondence, legal opinions, contracts, reports and other legal documents.
- Prepare responses to subpoenas.
- Maintain detailed database file on each active file, including all incoming and outgoing correspondence.
- Maintain attorneys' calendar, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings.
- Coordinate attorneys' travel arrangements, prepare travel and leave forms, and submit expenses for attorneys' reimbursement.
- Answer telephone, direct requests and/or take messages.
- Prepare conference rooms and setup for meetings.
- Greet clients/visitors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six years of related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Planning and organization skills.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
