Description

As a Senior Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead and manage advanced projects focused on IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) development within the aerospace domain. You will drive technical innovation, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure successful project delivery that meets customer and business requirements.


You will report directly to our Sr. Engineering Manager, and you’ll work out of our Minneapolis, MN location on a hybrid work schedule.


In this role, you will impact the advancement of aerospace technology by developing cutting-edge IMU systems that enhance navigation and control capabilities for a variety of applications in both the commercial and defense industries.



Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and integration of IMU systems for aerospace and commercial applications
  • Manage project schedules, resources, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Risk/OPP development and management
  • Vendor interface
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, software, and systems engineering to resolve technical challenges
  • Customer communication and relationships
  • Presenting project plans and status to customers, and internal stakeholders
  • Mentoring other’s strengthening PE capabilities across the group
  • Strong management operating system that facilitates communication
  • Work with functional leaders to prioritize resources and implement project objectives
  • Help to drive organizational improvements to improve project efficiency and rigor


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • 6+ years of experience in advanced project engineering, preferably in aerospace IMU development or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of inertial navigation systems, and aerospace system integration
  • Experience with systems design, testing, and validation processes
  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields
  • PMP certification
  • Experience in project and/or systems engineering
  • Ability to create action plans, prioritize time and resources effectively
  • Interest in program management – cost, schedule, technical execution
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches

The annual base salary range for this position is $133,000 - $166,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations. 

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
