Description

We are seeking a Banking Operations Reconciliation Technician to perform accounting, treasury, and cash management work relating to the designated operational area(s).  This could include but is not limited to the transfer of funds, preparation of journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and internal and external report preparation.

This is a hybrid position reporting to the Harrisburg, PA office. The initial training period will take place in-office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Accurately prepares E-vouchers, cash receipt vouchers, and general expense vouchers in support of business transactions.
  • Prepares accurate journal entries to record transactions.
  • Prepares reconciliations for information in the general ledger.
  • Responsible for preparing and distributing internal and external financial reports.
  • Responsible for maintenance of files and archives.
  • Monitors daily cash activity and initiates cash transfers and other banking requests as necessary.
  • Develops and maintains spreadsheets to record financial activity for use by others in the financial division.
  • Processes special deposit interest payments and initiates replacement of special deposit securities and other correspondence with appropriate financial institutions.
  • May research laws and regulations to ensure proper compliance.
  • Identifies more critical and less critical activities and assignments; adjusts priorities when appropriate.
  • Allocates appropriate amounts of time for completing own and others’ work; avoids scheduling conflicts; develops timelines and milestones.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs other duties as may be assigned by the Director, Treasury & Billing Services

  • May provide assistance to other team members with General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Payroll duties as assigned by management.

  • Puts new knowledge, understanding, or skill to practical use on the job; furthers learning through practice and ongoing feedback.

 QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Credentials 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, other business administration related discipline required.

Experience 

  • Minimum of 1 year experience preferred.

Technical/Professional Knowledge

  • Must use analytical and problem solving skills for daily activities 
  • Personal Computer experience in a Windows environment including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Ability to work in deadline driven/team environment.
  • Ability to work with automated accounting systems
  • Must possess strong organizational skills

The compensation has been carefully determined by considering a variety of important factors, including skill sets, experience, training, and certifications. With these considerations in mind, the estimated hiring range is $48,000 - $67,000. Additionally, you may be able to participate in our annual incentive program, depending on eligibility under the plan.

  • This position is primarily a sedentary position that requires occasional standing and walking throughout the office environment.
  • Must be able to perform computer-based tasks and access digital information necessary for job duties, including through the use of assistive technologies.

  • Must be able to access and enter information accurately using automated systems.

  • Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance and adhere to scheduled work hours.
