Here at Norton Rixson, we have prepared a road map with innovation in mind, and we are positioned for strong growth.  To help bring these products to market and grow our installer base, we are seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Team.


 


Our Senior Buyers are responsibile for performing cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities and coordinating procurement activities with manufacturing and engineering to build strategies and procurement decisions. Manage cost, schedule, and scope of assigned contracts to assure best quality and best value. Assist SupplyChain manager in development of inventory management strategies and procedures.


 



  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    •Issue purchase orders to suppliers based on planning tools and obtain acknowledgements.
    •Reconcile past due purchase orders.
    •Maintain supplier quote files and effectivity dates.
    •Develop cost/price/value analysis on supplier’s products and services.
    •Heavily involved in cost negotiations of all purchased parts, components and materials.
    •Develop material management strategies for potential supplier contractual relationships.
    •Manage and measure supplier performance and provide scorecards to management to encourage continual improvement of supplier processes and products/services.
    •Engage with quality, engineering and manufacturing regarding the non-conforming materials (NCM’s) process seeking resolves to issues that both meet both the Company and customer’s expectations.
    •Prepare management reports and maintain official records and documentation to support Company procurement activity.
    •Communicate with accounting and vendors regarding invoice discrepancies to ensure balance between contractual purchase orders and invoices.
    •Embrace a fast-paced environment that requires a sense of urgency in relation to the needs of both internal and external customers.
    •Manage transition from old products being discontinued to new products being introduced
    •Measure effectiveness of the Company’s procurement processes and recommend improvements.
    •Other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Company.


 


 



  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    •Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited university in supply chain, business, or engineering. CPM, CPSM – desired.
    •Minimum of 5+ years procurement experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
    •Experience in International procurement and logistics.
    •Excellent verbal and written communication skills; problem resolution skills; understand competitive market; ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-volume environment.
    •Experience in leading other individuals to meet Key performance metrics and/or other events.
    •Knowledge of principles, concepts and standards of procurement, to include price analysis, negotiations, ethics, and purchasing law. Experience and demonstrated success in having worked on capital projects.
    Proven experience in Lean or other continuous improvement methodologies. Setting up reorder point material system experience mandatory.
    •JD Edwards ERP system knowledge a plus.
    •Microsoft Office skills (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); procurement software.
    •Detailed oriented, well-organized; self-starter; ability to work under minimal supervision.
