Senior Backend Developer



Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design and build reliable, scalable services that power our web platforms. This role emphasizes expertise in C#, .NET, and Entity Framework, along with strong API design discipline, data integrity, and the pragmatic use of AI to improve development velocity and system reliability.

We are building the next generation of enterprise applications that prioritize performance, maintainability, and long-term scalability. This role offers the opportunity to influence technical architecture, establish development standards, and build systems that support critical business operations.



Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using C#, .NET, and Entity Framework.

  • Define and uphold REST API standards for resource modeling, endpoint conventions, versioning, backward-compatible contract evolution, and consistent error handling.

  • Own API documentation quality through OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and clear developer guidance.

  • Architect maintainable, testable systems aligned with established engineering standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and operational requirements into scalable backend solutions.

  • Optimize database access patterns, query performance, and overall system efficiency.

  • Integrate with external services and third-party APIs as needed.

  • Incorporate AI-assisted workflows (such as code generation, validation, testing, and pipeline automation) into the development process where they provide measurable value.

  • Evaluate emerging AI tools and technologies and recommend practical applications.

  • Contribute to technical standards, code reviews, and long-term architectural decisions.


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.

  • Strong expertise in C# and the .NET ecosystem.

  • Extensive experience with Entity Framework.

  • Proven ability to design and deliver complex backend systems.

  • Demonstrated architectural judgment in determining when to use microservices versus a modular monolith.

  • Strong understanding of relational database design and query optimization.

  • Experience designing and validating APIs with unit, integration, and contract testing in CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and drive initiatives to completion.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience designing and operating cloud-based systems in AWS.

  • Familiarity with AWS services, particularly AWS Lambda and serverless architectures.


AI & Tooling Expectations

  • Actively uses AI tools (such as code assistants, LLM-based workflows, and automation frameworks) to improve development efficiency.

  • Critically evaluates AI-generated output and incorporates it into production-quality code.

  • Applies a practical, results-oriented approach to integrating AI into backend engineering workflows.
