Senior Communications Strategist

Find your purpose as the Senior Communications Strategist at CentraCare. The Senior Communications Strategist develops and implements communication strategies that support CentraCare's academic, research, and physician engagement priorities. Reporting to the Director, System Communications, this position serves as a primary communications resource for clinical partners leadership and provides strategic support for physician and APP engagement, graduate medical education, research and academic initiatives.
Working collaboratively with leaders and stakeholders across the organization, the Senior Communications Strategist develops communication plans, provides messaging guidance, and supports CentraCare's partnership with the University of Minnesota Medical School and its ongoing development as an academic health system.

Schedule:

• Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks
• Mon-Fri 8a-5p
• Hybrid of at-home and in-office work (location to be determined)

Pay & Benefits:

• Starting pay begins at $104,124.80 per year and increases with experience.
  • Salary range:  $104,124.80-$156,187.20 per year
    • Salary range is based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field.
• 5–7+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and executing strategic communication plans and complex communication initiatives.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with communication technologies, digital platforms, and content management tools.
• Knowledge of healthcare, medical education and research preferred.
• Required to live within driving distance from a CentraCare site to support onsite responsibilities as needed. Travel to other sites will be required. 

Core Functions:

• Leads complex, high-impact internal communications to ensure clear, consistent messaging across all audiences focused on clinical partners, academics and research.  
• Serves as a key contact for clinical partner leadership, providing strategic guidance and support.
• Develops and executes communication strategies that support organizational priorities and physician engagement efforts.
• Supports executive and physician leadership communications, presentations, talking points, and strategic messaging.
• Partners in developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies to enhance visibility and reputation for the medical school and ongoing academic programming.
• Identifies and produces stories that highlight physicians, APPs, residents, faculty, and learners across the organization.
• Leads communication efforts for CentraCare Research, highlighting advancements, collaborations, and impact.
• Collaborates with research leaders to increase awareness and understanding of research activities among internal and external audiences.
• Develops messaging and content across a variety of communication channels and formats.
• Ensures consistency in voice, tone, messaging, and brand standards across all communications.
• Collaborates across communications, marketing, digital, creative services, and public relations teams to support integrated communication efforts.
