Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to lead enterprise data strategy, governance, and platform architecture for a major State Enterprise initiative in Tallahassee, FL.

In this key role, you will establish data architecture standards, define cloud and database frameworks, oversee data security and compliance, and drive robust data governance across complex systems.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Strategic Planning & Vision: Define long-term data architecture goals, tactical roadmaps, disaster recovery plans, and enterprise lifecycle management strategies.

  
  


• 
  

  Data Governance & Quality: Establish governance frameworks, tracking metrics for data quality/completeness, and metadata management using tools like Microsoft Purview.

  
  


• 
  

  Cloud & Platform Architecture: Design and optimize enterprise data platforms leveraging Azure Cloud services (ADLS Gen2, ADF, Databricks), Snowflake, and relational database systems.

  
  


• 
  

  Technical Documentation & Blueprints: Produce Solution Architecture Documents (SAD), Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), Data Models (ERDs), and Source-to-Target Mapping (STTM) matrices.

  Data Security & Infrastructure: Implement RBAC, Row/Object-Level Security, key vault management, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC via Bicep/Terraform).

  
  


• 
  

  Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with application developers, project managers, and executive leaders to drive seamless enterprise integrations.

  
  

Qualification Requirements

• 
  

  7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise data architecture and large-scale database management systems.

  
  


• 
  

  Strong expertise in data modeling (Relational, Star/Snowflake schemas, NoSQL) and ETL/ELT pipeline design.

  
  


• 
  

  Hands-on experience with multiple database platforms: Azure SQL Database, Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.

  
  


• 
  

  Proven experience with data governance tools, metadata management, and Power BI platform services.

  
  


• 
  

  Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates (Bicep/ARM/Terraform) and version control.

  
  


• 
  

  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

  
  

Preferred / Bonus Experience

• 
  

  Experience working on Florida State Agency IT projects.

  
  


• 
  

  Exposure to state financial data transformations (e.g., FLAIR / PALM systems).

  
  


• 
  

  Hands-on experience with Snowflake pipeline creation and TeamDynamix iPaaS.
