Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling and lakehouse architecture, with proven experience in designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines. You will ensure efficient and reliable data processing and storage. Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing best practices to optimize data platform infrastructure, ensuring reliable and sustainable operations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using cloud data platforms (Databricks, Azure, Snowflake, GCP or AWS).


• Write and optimize advanced SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.


• Maintain and support deployed ETL/ELT pipelines and ensure data quality.


• Optimize data workflows and improve the performance of existing pipelines.


• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring minimal downtime.


• Partner with customers and business analysts to understand business needs.


• Help improve and automate existing data processes and pipelines to create greater efficiency in the production of analytic products.


• Produce and maintain documentation including design documents, data, process models, master data management, and data dictionaries.


• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.


• 3+ years of experience in data engineering.


• Experience with data warehouse and data Lakehouse solutions


• Proficiency in at least one cloud data platform (Databricks, Azure, Snowflake, GCP, AWS)


• Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools.


• SQL skills, including complex queries, optimization, and performance tuning.


• Expertise in Python and/or other relevant programming languages.


• Experience with Jinja coding using DBT.


• Familiarity with data governance and data security best practices.


• Familiarity with machine learning and data science concepts.


• Nice to have certifications in cloud platforms or data engineering tools.


• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
