Eaton\u0027s AER MSD Mission System Division division is currently seeking a Senior Design Engineer. \n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 \\- $126000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nAs a Senior Design Engineer at a cutting-edge composites company you will contribute directly to the design. analysis, test and build of composite pressure vessels and composite structures for our growing Space, military, aircraft, and commercial customers. We are currently looking for individuals with a proven track record of composites design, solid customer skills, and a passion for hands on innovation and problem solving.\n\nIncluding:\n\n \n\u2022 Visit and work with customers and our internal Business Development team to generate conceptual designs, definitize requirements, and develop cost estimates for new hardware. \n\u2022 Design, analyze and test composite pressure vessels and structures developing conceptual designs into mature product solutions. \n\u2022 Attend conferences and trade shows to advance technical skills and market intelligence. \n\u2022 Function as program manager to execute programs to allocated cost and schedule requirements while meeting customer needs. \n\u2022 Interface with suppliers and in house production teams throughout life of products. \n\u2022 Support the site as needed including developing new manufacturing processes, dispositioning nonconformances, troubleshooting product issues, responding to corrective actions, and incorporating any producibility lessons learned through drawing revisions. \n\u2022 Manage technical risk through exhaustive identification, prioritization of risk mitigation activities, and data driven design changes where appropriate. \n\u2022 Work to Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) principles including careful management of Critical to Quality requirements through the design lifecycle, rigorous knowledge building of the design space, understanding of the effects of manufacturing variation, and design for manufacturing and assembly to meet product recurring cost targets. \n\u2022 Coach junior engineers within the incumbents specified domain.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Aerospace or Material Science or Technology from an accredited institution\n * Minimum of 3 years of, product design, development, and/or production design problem resolution experience.\n * Must be authorized to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or in the future.\n * This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR.\n * ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. \u0027Green Card Holder\u0027), Political Asylee, or Refugee. \n \n\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Master\u0027s degree in Mechanical Material Science or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution.\n * Design for Six Sigma Greenbelt or Blackbelt \n\n\n\n\n## Skills Criteria:\n\n * Technical leadership skills working with a cross-functional team.\n * Ability to work mostly autonomously but with some oversite from a technical leader or engineering manager.\n * Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration with internal and external customers.\n * Possess sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills.\n * Strong interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to function in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary engineering environment including frequent direct interaction with production personnel.\n * Technical knowledge\n * Formal training or experience in the design and analysis of composite parts including classical laminated plate theory. mechanics of materials. and Finite Element analysis\n * Proficiency with SolidWorks 3D CAD\n * Strong understanding of drawing standards and application of GD\u0026T\n * Demonstrated track record of successfully applying several of the following engineering principles:\n * Aerospace new product introduction methods, regulatory standards. regulations. and certifications\n * DFSS or Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools\n * Failure investigations of technical products or systems\n * Oversite and comprehension of stress analysis (static. dynamic, fatigue, vibration, acceleration, etc.)\n * Steady state performance modeling\n * Thermodynamics\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
