About Unclaimed Baggage As a 55-year-old family-owned company, we have a long-term and purpose-filled vision. Unclaimed Baggage is the only company in the United States that buys and sells the lost luggage of airlines that is never reunited with its owners. Our 50,000-square-foot retail store in Scottsboro, Alabama is a one-of-a-kind destination experience, complemented by a fast-growing online store, which together have created an iconic omni-channel brand that draws people in with a sense of discovery. As one of the largest tourist destinations in the state of Alabama, Unclaimed Baggage attracts over one million visitors each year from all 50 states and over 40 foreign countries and has been featured by a number of major media outlets, including National Geographic, Good Morning America, Vogue, and The New York Times. Our Culture Our Purpose is to “Redeem the lost, unclaimed, and rejected for the glory of God.” As a lost luggage business, this is clearly manifest in how we repurpose forgotten items that would otherwise end up in landfills, but we also strive to redeem people and communities through our Reclaimed for Good foundation, providing suitcases, clothing, medical supplies, and eyeglasses to those who need them all around the world. This purpose is core to who we are and has guided our decisions for over 55 years. Integrity: Do the right thing. We believe that values aren't just words on a piece of paper, but something that drives our behavior each and every day, which is why we call them Values in Action. They are:
- Excellence: Always reach for better.
- Humility: Listen and learn.
- Service: Help others win.
- Teamwork: Grow stronger together.
- Gratitude: Choose to be thankful.
- Entrepreneurship: Make it happen.

We are all about people and seek to foster a culture of collaboration, support, and growth. About the Role We're looking for a Senior Designer to help shape how Unclaimed Baggage looks, feels, and shows up in the world. This is a hybrid craft-and-leadership role: you'll produce high-caliber design work yourself while directing a bench of freelance designers and contract creatives on campaigns. You'll partner closely with the Creative Director on brand identity, campaigns, and content strategy across retail and digital. Based in Atlanta, with regular travel to our flagship store and team in Scottsboro, Alabama for campaign work and in-person collaboration. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Creative Director to translate brand strategy into visual systems and campaign concepts
- Help support concepting campaigns, cultural moments, and event launches for Unclaimed Baggage
- Design and produce polished, on-brand assets across digital, social, email, in-store signage, experiential experiences, and print
- Own print production end to end, prepping files, managing vendors and timelines, running press checks, and proofing final output
- Brief, direct, and review work from freelance designers and outside contract creatives, keeping their output on-brand and on-strategy
- Steward and evolve the UB visual identity, keeping it distinct, consistent, and on strategy
- Juggle multiple concurrent projects across a fast-moving retail calendar without losing quality
- Project Execution: Owns design tasks from initial concept to final delivery, including layouts, branding, and digital assets
- Brand Guardian: Protects brand identity and consistency across all platforms and campaigns
- Mentorship: Guides, supports, and reviews work from freelance designers and the marketing team
- Collaboration: Works with marketing teams and other stakeholders to present design concepts

- Sharp instincts for typography, layout, color, and visual storytelling
- Experience briefing, directing, and reviewing work from freelance designers or outside contractors
- Print production know-how: prepress, file prep, working with print vendors, and running press checks
- Comfort moving fast, making decisions, and owning work end to end
- A collaborative style: you can take a brief and build on someone else's idea as easily as your own
