We are seeking a Senior Ecologist  to join our growing team in Fresno, CA. In this role, you will assist clients through all project phases, from conception and planning to implementation and follow-up monitoring. Our projects include traditional and renewable energy, water resources, highways and roads, private and commercial development, farming and dairy operations, timber harvest, mining, conservation and management, and ecological research and monitoring. What You'll Do:

  • Lead and conduct ecological assessments and field studies to evaluate environmental conditions and biodiversity
  • Analyze ecological data and prepare detailed reports and presentations
  • Develop and implement conservation strategies and management plans to protect and enhance ecosystems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private sector partners, to support conservation initiatives
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on ecological matters to project teams and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in ecological principles, environmental science, and biodiversity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing detailed reports, presenting findings, and educating the community
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop and implement conservation plans and management strategies
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and GIS software to analyze environmental data
  • Experience in managing research projects, including planning, execution, and reporting
  • Ability to work both in the office and field work, with exposure to various weather conditions and potential hazards
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Salary Range:

At Verdantas, we offer comprehensive benefits packages for our employees. Actual salary is based on the circumstances of each position and candidate, such as geographic location, skills, and certifications We recognize and reward exceptional performance and strive to ensure fair compensation across all roles and departments within the company. The minimum salary for this position is $100,000 (negotiable based on the criteria presented above).
