Job Description - Senior Electrical Designer

An Electrical Designer shall can produce comprehensive facility electrical designs under the guidance of a Project Engineer and, at a minimum, have the following capabilities:

Understand basic electrical theory/calculations, electrical system components and devices.

Must have the ability to comprehend and implement inputs and direction from the project engineer.

Apply Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software to support project designs.

Knowledge of codes, standards, and best practices with the ability to apply them within the electrical design.

Be able to develop and draft power, lighting and fire alarm plans, single line/riser diagrams, panel and light fixture schedules.

Understand the components of the mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems that will require power and be able to coordinate those discipline requirements into the electrical design.

Take personal ownership of the work produced.

Requirements

This is a Direct -Hire. At least 4 years in Electrical Design for large, complex projects is required.

Vocation school, military training, college degree, field experience, proven relevant technical experience.
Experience working in a professional A/E office, Consulting Firm, Construction Contractor, or equivalent.
Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, photometric, word processing/spreadsheet and other basic software.
Strong written, verbal and communication skills with the ability to participate in a collaborative team environment.
