Design and Production Incorporated is a renowned builder of museum experiences, offering a comprehensive range of specialty services for museums and high-profile institutions. D&P’s expertise lies in prefabrication consulting, project management, exhibit engineering, detailing, prototyping, installation, media, and lighting systems. Projects are custom, large scale, complex, multi-year experiences.
D&P is looking for an experienced Senior Electrician to support the installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems across our projects. This is a hands-on role for someone who is technically strong, reliable and comfortable working on complex installations in coordination with AV technicians, project managers, fabricators and other trades.
Key Responsibilities
Perform electrical installation, wiring, troubleshooting and maintenance on D&P projects.
Install and connect electrical equipment, lighting systems, control systems and AV-related electrical infrastructure.
Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
Support AV installations, commissioning and on-site troubleshooting.
Identify and resolve electrical issues quickly and safely.
Coordinate with AV technicians, project managers and other trades during installation.
Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety requirements and D&P quality standards.
Test installations and verify proper operation before project handover.
Support installations at client sites and travel when required.
Provide technical guidance to more junior team members when needed.
Required Qualifications
Current Journeyman's or Master's Electrical License required. Candidates coming from an engineering background may qualify with a degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) in lieu of licensure.
Hands-on experience working with AV systems and/or low voltage electrical work is important — this role sits at the intersection of electrical and AV, and candidates should be comfortable in both worlds.
Strong professional experience as an electrician, ideally in commercial, AV, entertainment, museum, exhibition or complex installation environments.
Excellent knowledge of electrical systems, wiring and troubleshooting.
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.

Ideal candidates bridge electrical and AV/low voltage work comfortably, whether they came up through the trades with a Journeyman's or Master's license or through an EE track.
