Job Description - Senior Engineer - Optimization Developer

Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Senior Engineer - Optimization Developer.\n\nThis role is located at our Waukesha, WI facility and offers a hybrid work model.\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe Senior Engineer \u2013 Optimization Developer will support development of core and coil design optimization program rules and programming implementation to continue the evolution of core and coil designs to support Eaton\u2019s industry leading capabilities.\n\nIn this role you will: \n\n * Understand complex core/coil construction requirements, rules, and methods and use the knowledge to develop new rules and designs.\n * Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify and drive opportunities for continuous improvement. \n * Manage projects/activities in support of Cost Out and Continuous Improvement goals\n * Generate manufacturing information correctly and in the time that is expected (On Time Design (OTD)) \n * Implement innovative programming solutions to improve optimization efficiency and accuracy\n * Apply knowledge of optimization processes to integrate into design process\n * Design custom products with standard requirements to meet customer specifications and industry standards. \n * Review and interpret design specifications to establish customer requirements. \n * Understand the various components that are needed in the Product design. Continuously expand knowledge of the products.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s Degree with technical design or support experience with electromechanical products.\n * Three (3) years of programming experience (C, C++, Fortran).\n * Three (3) years of experience with electromechanical systems or products\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.\n * Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that live outside a 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Experience on any CAD tool like Inventor, AutoCAD\n * Knowledge of standard industry drafting/modeling practices\n * Experience with custom engineering design and processes is desired\n * Experience in creating, loading, and/or storing design data within an ERP system, preferably SAP, is desired\n * Knowledge of power systems, distribution/power transformer products/applications, and/or industrial automation/controls is desired\n * Ability to excel as a team player by successfully collaborating with engineering peers as well as cross-functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations\n\n\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
